Solar eclipses, 1900–2100

Every solar eclipse for two centuries, each one drawn on the map with the ground it passes over.

• Pick an eclipse from the list, or step through them with the arrows — the ← and → keys work too.
• Click the map anywhere to see when the eclipse happens there, how much of the Sun is covered, and how long totality lasts.
• Choose a place and the list narrows to the eclipses you could see from it — all of them, or only the ones that go total.
• Press play to watch the shadow and the day/night line cross the Earth.
• The cog changes the basemap, the colours, and whether times are shown in UT or on your own clock.
